About Our Webzine

Welcome to It’s Your Problem Now, Kids! A brand-new Webzine that raises awareness about issues that weigh heavily on younger generations’ shoulders.

Perhaps with the intent of being encouraging, older generations above often express their faith our capability to solve systemic issues. However, without concrete support and empowerment of young people, this sounds a lot like “It’s Your Problem Now, Kids!“. These comments can create overwhelm or pessimism that makes us freeze and feel powerless when that’s the last thing the world needs. Whether they are global issues, like climate change, gender or racial inequality, or issues that are more contained to Canada, such as what’s being taught in our schools or the rise of AI and its relation to entertainment, our wonderful team of Canadian writers promise to bring these issues to light. The featured essays contain both research and personal anecdotes, some being narrative-led and some with analytics on the forefront, focussing on displaying the facts and histories of each topic and our thoughts on it, as the youth that the issues are being handed to.

How does our generation balance the normal teenage-and-early adulthood stressors of basic living with the threat of the world as we know it crumbling? Did the generations before us feel the same existential dread? Did they know the world they were building (and in some cases, dismantling) for us? We want to talk about it. Read on!
